Definitely. This is something of a no-lose situation. If you try to take the test and it’s canceled, then you’re no worse off. If you take the test and do poorly, you needn’t submit your scores, because the tests were made optional. If you take the test and do well, then you can submit it and have a stronger application.

But, I encourage you not to confuse testing optional with testing-blind.
